Weekly Report

1st Week Report

Team building, explanation of proposal and decision of the subject

2nd Week Report

In the second week, the team got their project proposal, the escargot nursery. They had their first lesson marketing about the marketing plan and our first lesson Portuguese where the group learned some Portuguese words and culture. At project management, team 'caracol' made the Gantt chart and they received an introduction in Microsoft project. For the project, the research about the breed needed the use and living conditions was started. Marketing, sustainability and ethics research was also started.

3rd Week Report

The team chose a comercial name for the product and designed a logo for our company 'caracol'. First design scratches were done. The website has been launched though is in a raw state at the moment. A marketing research survey was created to find out the product's target market and finally set up into a defined idea about the product the team will develop.

4th Week Report

In the 4th week, the team had to meet a deadline on Monday. They uploaded the “BlackBox” System Diagram & Structural drawings. During the rest of the week the group discussed about the product's design and materials. All team members worked on the project and the wiki.

5th Week Report

During the 5th week, team one built the product's cardboard model and introduced it to the supervisors. The first input on the report was received and its modifications were started. First technical structural drawings were completed.

6th Week Report

The first references were added to the wiki during the 6th week. Team “Caracol” did some braingstorming and decided on the product's final design. The new designs are made and the team started with new 3D models. The list of Materials is done and now the team is doing the final details for the interim report.

7th Week Report

This week we finished the wiki and the interim report. We also finished the interim presentation.

8th Week Report

We had the interim presentation and received the comments on our report.

9th Week Report

We worked on our refined Interim report and add all the comments of the supervisors.

10th Week Report

We finished the refined interim report and uploaded it on Tuesday. In the meeting on Thursday, we received the template for the paper we need to hand in on the 17th of May. The supervisors explained the template for the paper which will be submitted to the ICL conference in Budapest.

11th Week Report

We finished the paper, started with programming and testing. In the meeting with the supervisors, we received our materials.

12th Week Report

We worked on programming and started with the leaflet and the poster. In the meeting with the supervisors, we received the schedule for the building room.

13th Week Report

We still have problems with the programming of the sensor for the soil tests. We are working on our deliverables and the prototype.

14th Week Report

We finished the last things in the prototype and had still some problems with programming. At the end of the week (18th of June) we uploaded all deliverables.

15th Week Report

There were still some problems with programming, we solved them and the system was working. On Thursday we had the final presentation and the indivdual assessments.

16th Week Report

We add all the comments from the supervisors and teachers to our report. We put all the deliverables on a DVD and handed it in.

Minute:

The team received general information and advice. They need to define the target group of our project.

3rd Meeting (2017-09-03)

  4. Set and display temperature?
  5. How to add a new box to the agenda in the wiki?
  6. What do we have to fill in by the activities?

Minute:

The teams needs to evaluate whether the children will be willing to eat the snails they have grown in home or it would be better to settle on an educational/recreational product.

4th Meeting (2017-16-03)

Agenda:

  3. Can we borrow an arduino from school, to start programming?
  4. What are the prototype possibilities?
  5. What machinery can we use (CNC,3D printer)?
  6. Moisture and airflow?
  7. Where can we get the snails needed?

Minute:

The team needs to think of a cheap way to control the humidity, a springler is a very expensive option.

5th Meeting (2017-23-03)

  5. Do we have to make calculations like static or resistance of materials?

Minute:

The team needs to make the product more user-friendly.

6th Meeting (2017-30-03)

7th Meeting (2017-06-04)

Minute:

The electronic part needs to be developed. A teacher showed us a chemical product to use for the water absorption.

8th Meeting (2017-27-04)

Minute:

During this meeting they told us that we had to write a paper for a conference in Budapest in September. The deadline is 22nd of May.

9th Meeting (2017-04-05)

Agenda:

  4. How does the format (overleaf) works?
  5. Do we need to make the packaging of the prototype?
  6. Where can we build our prototype?

Minute:

We got more clarity about the paper and the program overleaf. We discussed about a few parts of the materials.

10th Meeting (2017-18-05)

Minute:

We discussed about the humidity sensors. The paper needs to be handed in on 22nd of May before 00:00, we need to change some words because of the accent.

11th Meeting (2017-25-05)
